Kansas City, Kan.
— It’s been a busy week for business license applicants.
The Kansas City Chamber of Commerce hosted a workshop Friday for business owners and others interested in applying for a Kansas City business license.
The event was organized by the Kansas City Business Alliance, which represents nearly 100 business owners.
It’s a way for businesses to get information and networking.
It’s not all fun and games.
There are some serious requirements.
For instance, applicants have to pay a $75 fee for a license application.
That is not a standard application fee.
There’s also a $150 fee for the application fee, plus another $25 for an insurance deposit.
The KBA is encouraging businesses to apply online and get their business license application online.
The application process takes about six to eight weeks, but applicants can apply for the license online and receive a personal letter with instructions.
The letter is available in the mail.
Business owners are encouraged to come in on the first day of the business week.
The deadline to apply is Monday, March 15, 2018.
