‘I’ve been crying’ over a business sign, ‘I’d love to help’

Posted April 03, 2019 05:31:36 Business owners and residents alike are struggling to cope with the ongoing grief after a devastating loss of life at a local bar.

The tragedy took place on Friday night when three men were found dead in a nearby house.

“I’ve had to sit and cry over a sign for a while now,” resident Robyn Mihala told News.au.

“I’d like to see a business or a store come and say, ‘Hey, this is our business and we’re sorry we’ve lost three of our employees’,” she said.

The three men had worked at the Bar Cask at Lorne Street in Lismore.

Mihala’s friend and business partner, who had just finished his shift, said it was heartbreaking news.

“It’s a really sad day for us and the community, it’s just devastating,” he said.

“The tragedy of the three guys at the bar, it just really hits home.”

The Bar Casket, located at 542 Lorne St, is one of the oldest in the town and has been around for more than two decades.

The owners of the bar have been contacted for comment.

The bar was open from 12:00pm-6:00am.
